A 2018 Bloomberg report based on U.S. Census Bureau calculations and the distribution of household income ranked Atlanta the most unequal large city in the United States. Certain neighborhoods suffer from what’s known as concentrated poverty, resulting in crime, underperforming schools, little to no jobs, and poor housing and health conditions.
